A Legacy Born in the Swinging Sixties
In the height of the Swinging Sixties, an era defined by iconic design and an explosion in consumer demand for the finer things in life, three entrepreneurs from the North of England - Alan Gibson, Bob Cooper and Jim Bolton set our on a journey of inspiration from round the world. They had one ambition, to create premium handcrafted furniture. In 1968, they formed Trident, which become Tetrad after a fourth director, Bill Hoole, joined the business. Creating the beginning of a brand that would go onto shape the upholstery industry.
Evolving Through the Decades
They identified that a sofa should be the focal point of a living space that brings a source of comfort and expression of personality. With that simple principle they revolutionised the market. Tetrad quickly became synonymous with innovation with futuristic designs, loose cover models and luxurious leathers and fabrics.
Much has changed since the early days, trends have evolved and homes have transformed, yet the most important things remain exactly the same.
